Sustainable weaving: Invitation to visit the Lindauer DORNIER stand

Dear Sir or Madam,
dear customers and friends of Lindauer DORNIER GmbH,

When the subject of sustainability is raised, businesses are often called upon to take the lead. Lindauer DORNIER is doing precisely that, as enshrined in one of our seven guiding principles: “We strive to design and manufacture our products so that they are as safe and environmentally compatible as possible.” This commitment was formulated by the company founder, Peter Dornier over three decades ago.

Our presence at the upcoming ITMA – International Textile Machinery exhibition is further proof that sustainability is not just a passing fashion at DORNIER, but rather the foundation and result of a long-term corporate strategy. At this event, we will present the latest machines and systems, “Made in Germany” for the sustainable manufacture of clothing, home textiles and technical fabrics and the flexible, economical production of high-quality composite semi-finished materials under the banner theme of “The Green Machine“.

With the new standard version of the P2 rapier weaving machine, another milestone in rapier technology will be officially unveiled. The new machine combines the strengths of the “P1 All-rounder” with many innovations in the areas important to our customers: With improved shed geometry and a more rigid frame, increased productivity, maintenance-free drive technology and an even more efficient positive center transfer, the modern weaver can take advantage of the highest level of versatility and manufacturing reliability for fabric production in the world. And besides all this, the P2 is an excellent example of an end-to-end technological approach to sustainability. Accordingly, not only are the most delicate precision fabrics it makes able to keep air and water clean or to purify waste gases the world over, the machine itself is sustainable – as are all DORNIER weaving machines and systems: The resource-conserving processing, low energy consumption, long service life and intelligent control technology of the P2 define it as a true “Green Machine”.

On the subject of air-jet weaving, DORNIER will present a future-oriented encapsulated air-jet weaving machine. The solution represents the first time distinct climate zones have been introduced into the production hall: This means that each weaving machine can be operated in the best climate conditions for the manufacturing process – regardless of the heat or humidity in the hall. So the weaver has complete flexibility for accepting and completing orders, since it is then possible to process different fibers from wool to glass in one hall at the same time. The reduced levels of noise, dirt and mechanical vibration provided by the housing also make the fabric production workstations safer and more comfortable – a convincing argument when recruiting young employees and experienced technicians.

At the ITMA, the new myDoX? customer portal will also be presented. The portal is based on the very latest database technology and will add digital order management to DORNIER’s highly regarded personalized technical, installation and maintenance service. It will provide an online shop with permanent availability for original parts (DoXPOS – Parts Order System) for all product lines. Remote maintenance and networking of weaving machines – to improve run characteristics, for example – will also be possible in future via myDoX?.

Further exhibition highlights from DORNIER: The new color selector and feed system DORNIER DisCoS (DCS) for rapier weaving machines, enabling more efficient processing of up to eight colors; the DORNIER Weft Saver (DWS) weft saving device which enables weaving without a left catch selvedge, reducing waste; the double weft rapier heads DORNIER DoPPIO with free color transfer and parallel weft insertion.

In order to be able to present all these innovations to you in more detail, I warmly invite you to visit our Stand B211 in Hall 4 at the ITMA from 20 to 26 June.
